How to use different library databases: JSTOR

""

Using "JSTOR"

JSTOR is a growing digital library of more than 1,900 academic journals, 19,000 books, and 2 million primary sources.  The database is a service of ITHAKA (ithaka.org), a not-for- profit organization that helps the academic community use digital technologies to preserve the scholarly record and to advance research and teaching in sustainable ways.

What can you expect to find?: JSTOR provides a multitude of scholarly resources that include Archival and Recent Journals, Books, and Primary Sources.  Within a basic search, you will be able to access up to thousands of texts with the option to filter through them (journals, books, and pamphlets).  In addition, it is a full text database, so most resources should give you access to the full text in HTML or PDF format as well as a reliable preformatted citation.

*** NOTE: In order to access JSTOR , you must be logged into the database using your NYBG barcode
