Resources and Books for K-8 Teachers: About the Juvenile Collection

The LuEsther T. Mertz Library supports the educational mission of The New York Botanical Garden. Additionally, the Library has many items that can support teaching goals of New York City educators. Please see the lists below for recommended books from the Mertz Library's collections related to the natural sciences and more. 

The Juvenile collections (Juvenile and Members Juvenile) at the LuEsther T. Mertz Library together includes just a bit over 2,000 titles, some of which circulate. These collections were developed with help and generosity of individual donors, publishers, and our talented library acquisitions team. Individual records from the library's collection can be viewed in the library's catalog.

The Library welcomes student groups within the K-8 age range. if you would like to arrange a tour and library activity, please email the library.
